ABOUT THE AURORA TOWN SQUARE PROJECT
With two community spaces and unlimited possibilities, Aurora Town Square is a place where young and old can come together in all seasons to enjoy art, theatre, music, shopping, community events and activities.
Aurora Town Square includes two key spaces – a vibrant outdoor square and a new community facility that will feature a flexible performance hall with seating for up to 250 people and a variety of multi-purpose programming spaces that will bring life and energy to our downtown core.
Aurora Town Square is a key part of Aurora's exciting downtown revitalization plan.

The new name, approved by Aurora Council following a public engagement process, was carefully chosen to reflect an age-old desire for communities to share a space of belonging and celebration.
Officially opening in 2022, it will feature outdoor and indoor cultural spaces that offer unlimited possibilities.
Key features include:
• A vibrant, 29,000-square-foot outdoor community space animated by a skating track in winter that can be turned into a water feature in the summer, an amphitheater/ performance space, art installation spaces, community event space, and an enclosed bridge between the Library and the Church Street School addition.
• A spectacular 32,000-square-foot addition to the beloved Church Street School facility that will feature a flexible performance hall with seating for up to 250 patrons in Theatre style, multi-purpose arts programming spaces, visual arts studio, a beautiful café, and more.
• Major updates at the Aurora Public Library, including a new entrance and programming spaces, and a roof-top reading garden, which will make it even more accessible and user-friendly.

Due to the nature of this work, there is a potential for dust and construction-related noise from equipment and trucks. Daily construction will generally occur Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The public is encouraged to use caution in this area. Please cross at designated crosswalks, follow posted signs, and be alert when walking near the construction zone.

Phase 1 of the fencing is inspired by the Town of Aurora community, emphasizing the people who will use the space and who give Aurora its liveliness, purpose, and vitality.
