The Town of Aurora is developing its first-ever Public Art Master Plan (PAMP). This strategic document will act as a roadmap for years to come, setting direction for public art in Aurora and enhancing the impact of current efforts. A strong public art program can foster creativity and innovation in our community, share our collective histories and animate our public spaces.

What is a PAMP and why do we need it?

A PAMP is a strategic document that will provide the Town with the framework needed to develop and maintain public art within a municipal context in support of branding and tourism development, neighbourhood design, and cultural expression. It will develop consistent standards for funding, selecting, acquiring, managing, and conserving public art for community benefit.

The development of the PAMP supports this objective and is in alignment with our Town Strategic Plan and other key plans and studies, such as the Aurora Cultural Master Plan, the Aurora Promenade Concept Plan, and Town's Official Plan.

PAMP Objectives:

  1. To ensure future public art projects reflect the uniqueness of the community, its people and their stories;
  2. To support the planning, development and conservation of public art across the Town;
  3. To develop a unique character and identity by creating a compelling and enriched environment through public art;
  4. To provide specific recommendations to direct the development and implementation of a public art program over 5 years (2022-2026), including an estimated range of costs for proposed public art projects;
