Aurora should be easy to navigate in ways other than by car. It’s not that big of a place. Until pedestrians (and other active transportation users) feel safe, respected & not like they’re risking their lives to get from A to B. It’s not just about sidewalks. We need a comprehensive rethink on how cars move and put everyone else at risk. Not to mention how cars are prioritized & driver convenience considered prior to making streets safer and more humane. There are many solutions in the handbook that should be implemented that go unmentioned simply because drivers feel superior above all else.
