Thank you for your comment. We recognize that the opening of the new Aurora Town Square has made it more difficult to find parking near the library and surrounding buildings, especially on weekends. As part of this study, we’ll be taking a closer look at parking demand in this area to see how it’s being used and where improvements can be made. We also appreciate your suggestion about increasing the Occasional Use on Street Parking Permit (OUPP) program. We will be reviewing the current limits and considering ways to make the program more flexible to better meet the needs of residents and visitors.

    Thank you for your inquiry.

For detailed financial information related to parking ticket revenue, as well as specific details on bylaw enforcement staffing and compensation, we recommend submitting a Freedom of Information (FOI) request to the Town of Aurora. FOI requests provide access to municipal records, ensuring transparency while following legislative requirements.

You already have the ability to have people sign up for overnight parking. Why is there a 12 night limit? You don't give out parking permits when there is a snow emergency so why not get rid of the 12 night limit and allow people to get as many permits as they want (again except when you don't allow under snow emergency)??? Why are you paying for bylaw officers to drive around all night looking for law breakers who only want to park their cars? This is clearly a money making endeavour for the town. Thank you for your comment and we appreciate your feedback.  We recognize the challenges residents face with parking during the  winter months.  As part of the study, we understand the importance of reviewing exemplary practices; hence, parking by-law and regulations, including those related to winter parking restrictions, from other municipalities will be reviewed. We will also be reviewing the Town's existing residential parking permit system.  As the Town continues to explore solutions to these challenges, we appreciate perspectives like yours that highlight the broader implications of parking regulations.   We encourage you to stay involved in upcoming reviews and consultations.  If you have any further questions  or would like to provide additional input please reach out.

Thank you for reaching out with your concern about parking availability around the library.  We understand that finding a convenient parking space can be challenging, especially during peak hours of the library.

We will be reviewing the parking demand at the library and nearby on-street parking to explore ways to improve parking availability and / or providing clearer signage for alternative parking locations.

Thank you for your comment.  We acknowledge the concerns regarding the capacity of the current kiss and ride at the GO Station and traffic issues at the GO driveway on Wellington.  As the GO parking lot is managed by Metrolinx and not the Town,  we can forward the kiss & ride concern to Metrolinx for their consideration.  Additionally, as Wellington is a Regional road, we will share this feedback with the Region for their review.

Thank you for your comment.  We acknowledge the concerns regarding on-street parking at Yonge and Wellington, and we will be reviewing parking demand along these streets as part of our study.  While parking within the shopping plaza falls outside the scope of this project, we recognize the existing challenges and will consider them when reviewing parking requirements for new developments.  Our goal is to ensure that future planning takes into account both current and anticipated parking needs in the area. In addition, the Town is undertaking a Comprehensive Zoning By-law Review, which will result in updates to the Town Zoning By-law to reflect contemporary development standards, ensure alignment with the newly approved Official Plan, and guide the future growth and development of the Town.

Thank you for your comment.  We acknowledge your concerns regarding parking challenges during school drop-off / pick-up times.  We will be reviewing on-street parking within residential neighbors to assess safety and accessibility impacts.  Based on our findings, we will explore potential solutions such as parking restrictions and enforcement options to address the issue.

Thank you for your comment.  We acknowledge the concern regarding parking capacity at the GO station and understand the challenges commuters face.  We will be reviewing the parking demand at the GO station as part of the parking study, as well as nearby on-street parking availability, to assess current and future needs. Based on our findings, we will explore potential solutions to address overflow parking, which may include improved connections to remote parking areas through potential pedestrian and cycling facilities or shuttle services or partnership with nearby businesses for shared parking.
