We are making improvements to the streets and infrastructure on Centre Street between Yonge St and Spruce Street.

The proposed work will include:

  • Reconstruction of the road structure including new subdrains, granular road base and asphalt pavement
  • Replacement of concrete sidewalks and concrete curb and gutter
  • Replacement of the existing sanitary and storm sewer sections along with catch basins and service laterals as indicated on the project drawings
  • All associated restoration works

What to expect during construction:

  • Signage will be posted in the area and construction notices will be distributed.
  • Regular construction hours from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Contractor may work Saturdays as needed.
  • Based on the staging of the work, driveway access may be temporarily restricted in front of your property.
  • Access to Centre St between Yonge St to Spruce St will be for local traffic only during construction.

    Storm and sanitary underground works are expected to be completed by this week. The temporary asphalt paving of trenches and site clean‑up is scheduled for early next week, weather permitting.

    The crew has begun asphalt saw-cutting, excavation, and daylighting of existing underground utilities using a Hydrovac. They will continue with trench excavation for the drainage main installation on November 3rd.

    The contractor Pacific Paving has notified that they will begin mobilizing to the site next week. Residents may notice the delivery of construction materials and equipment as preparations for the upcoming work get underway.

    Pacific Paving has been contracted by the Town to reconstruct Centre Street from Yonge Street to Spruce Street. • Phase 1 is scheduled to begin the week of October 6th and is expected to be completed by December 2025. This phase includes underground utility work.• Phase 2 is scheduled to commence in the spring of 2026 and will include the road rehabilitation work. Read the full notice now.
