Pacific Paving has started road excavation on Centre St as part of the Phase 2 reconstruction work. Work will continue over the next few days, including road excavation and sidewalk removals. Please drive carefully, especially over areas with loose gravel.

Please note that on April 29, 2026 (Wednesday), you will experience a temporary disruption to water service between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The disruption is due to installing a new fire hydrant on Centre St between Spruce St and Yonge St. This water shutdown will affect only a limited number of properties, and notices have already been distributed to those impacted.

The water disruption times provided are estimates and may change due to unforeseen circumstances. We will do our best to restore service as quickly as possible.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation while we work to improve the infrastructure in your area.

The Town of Aurora will be commencing Phase 2 of the Centre Street reconstruction project. Phase 2 of the project is scheduled to begin the week of April 6, 2026 and is expected to be completed by June 2026. Read the full notice now.

I’m pleased to announce that Phase 1 of the Centre St Reconstruction Project has been officially completed, including storm and sanitary underground works. Temporary asphalt has been placed on Centre St and will remain in place until Phase 2 begins next spring, which will include full road rehabilitation.

The crew has begun asphalt saw-cutting, excavation, and daylighting of existing underground utilities using a Hydrovac. They will continue with trench excavation for the drainage main installation on November 3rd.
