Active Transportation Master Plan
We are proud to announce the passing of our Active Transportation Master Plan (ATMP), marking a significant milestone in fostering a healthier, more connected community. The ATMP, developed collaboratively with the community and our partners, is a comprehensive blueprint for promoting and enhancing active transportation in Aurora over the next 20 years.
Active transportation encompasses all human powered forms of movement, including walking, cycling, wheelchair use, rollerblading, skateboarding, and assisted active transportation like e-bikes and electric scooters.

Proposed Routes and Facilities
This map shows the proposed routes and facilities in Aurora - shared roadways, bike lanes, trails and more.
To make this map easier to read, sidewalks have not been included - but if you have suggestions related to walking (including crossings or intersection improvements) please include them on this map!
Please note that all York Region Roads are not within the scope of this project, but we still want to hear from you how those routes affect your active transportation choices!
Tell us your thoughts about the proposed facilities and network in Aurora.

Existing Conditions Map
This map shows what currently exists in Aurora - shared roadways, bike lanes, trails and more.
Tell us your thoughts about what is currently available in the Town, and then hop over to the "Previously Proposed" Map to tell us where the key gaps in the network are and what connections you would like to see prioritized.

Previously Proposed Routes
We want to know what parts of Aurora's active transportation network are working well and what places need improvement. Help us to identify where there are gaps in the existing network, where improvements to exiting facilities might be required, and where routes are already working well! This map presents routes that were proposed in the Town's Master Transportation Study (2020) and Trails Master Plan (2011) along with the recently proposed York Region Transportation Master Plan (2022).
We want to hear your comments on what is proposed in previous plans by both the Town and York Region (see the legend here below), where there are missing links in the current routes, and what your priorities are for future investments. We look forward to connecting with you!
