Project Update December 5th

The contractor has confirmed that paving is scheduled for December 16th. The paving can be completed in one day. A separate crew from the same company will be paving driveways at the same time. The driveway paving will take longer than 1 day. I do not know if driveway paving is going to start before or after the road is paved at this time.

The watermain, storm and sanitary sewers have all be completed. Today we have started to connect the final pieces of the new watermain system to the existing watermains. For example, the watermains that lead into the cul-de-sacs were not replaced because they are privately owned. Today we have started to connect those lines to the new system that has been installed.

Road building has begun and is progressing very well. The North/South leg of Poplar has all of the curb and sidewalk finished and now the final layer of gravel is being placed. The East/West leg of Poplar will follow right behind the North/South section. In the East/West leg of Poplar all of the sidewalk will be poured by tomorrow (Friday) and on Monday the curb pouring will begin. The curb pouring should only take 1 days because it's done with a machine.

Once the curb is complete the final layer of gravel will be placed by the end of next week so that everything is ready for paving on Monday December 16th.
